Robert Whitaker

Rob joined Stanley Tee in 2000 and heads up the employment team.
He acts for a wide range of employers from family run businesses to multi-national companies, and public sector organisations, as well as advising employees on the full range of employment law and HR related issues.
Rob advises on all aspects of employment law and undertakes both contentious and non-contentious work including wrongful and unfair dismissal claims, discrimination issues, breach of contract claims and injunctions, as well as advising on redundancy, variation of contracts and issues arising from the sale or purchase of a business under the Transfer of Undertakings Regulations. He also has extensive litigation experience ranging from Employment Tribunal cases to proceedings in the High Court. Rob works closely with HR specialists to provide his clients with ongoing, practical, employment law and HR support and advice.
Rob is involved in promoting the firms pro bono work by liasing with local Citizens Advice Bureaux to provide free legal advice at their centres in Saffron Walden, Braintree and Great Dunmow. He is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
Outside to office Rob is a keen musician and bird watcher. He enjoys
cooking and eating out and walking and cycling in his spare time. He also
acts as a trustee of a local charitable organisation.
